In a bind and DISCOVER DUCHESNE!

I have some great pictures and videos from the last week and I can't wait to share! Unfortunately, I am in a bind because the USB cords for BOTH our camera and our video camera are MIA! So, until I find them (good luck, me) a simple message will have to do.

We had a great 4th of July! Our plans changed last minute due to Luke's new work schedule so instead of getting to go to Jackson, Wyo. we went to the Merkley Farm with the fam. It was fun to see Kelly and her kids again (I think we've only met once before) and to meet Jake and Sara's new addition, Ashlyn. She is gorgeous!

I also told Luke that if we are going to spend this much time in Duchesne, we are going to find all that Duchesne has to offer! And while that isn't much, we did find a few fun little things. We went to the visitor's center and museum (chuckle) and got some maps and a free Coke. Always a bonus! We also found out about the Ute Indian Pow Wow that was taking place that weekend too. We found out where the Duchesne River Parkway is and took a nice short walk.

On the night of the fourth, we took Noah to his very first fireworks show. He was a little impatient until the fireworks started, but then he loved every minute. And it wasn't a bad show for teeny Duchesne! They had a pretty good turn out!

On Saturday, we went to the Pow Wow with Dale, Joey, Jesse, and Genny. It was a good time. We looked at the little shops, at a yummy snowcone and a so-so Navajo Taco and watched the dance competitions. We also bought the first outfit for our little girl. It is a handmade dress that is just so precious and hopefully will fit our little one next summer. The dancing outfits were amazing and it was pretty interesting to see. I'll hopefully get to post some pictures and video soon.

Right before we left for the Pow Wow, Luke went to get his wallet and couldn't find it. He was pretty certain it was in the house, though, so we left anyway. Well, when we packed up that afternoon, it was still nowhere to be found so we put everyone on the lookout and left for home. On the way out of town, Luke decided at the last second to drive to the park where we sat and watched the fireworks. Low and behold, there was his wallet, sitting right next to the road on the grass! All things intact and nothing missing, we were very grateful it was made of camo fabric (thanks, Mich). How grateful are we that Luke found it and nothing is missing!

All in all, it was a great weekend. On another note, I get a little more nervous every time I see this baby ticker counting down for me... Only 125 days and counting. Yowzas! I am just a little anxious about being the mom of two. It was so easy adjusting with Noah because I truly had nothing else going on. I didn't need to worry about anything but getting used to him. But now, I have to get used to a new one and still take care of the boy! I'm sure I will adjust and I know I will survive. I know too many women who have. Still... the nerves aren't quite settled. Words of wisdom, anyone?

Wow! Who knew there was so much to do in Duchesne!?! Maybe Cody and I can check out some of those places next time we pass through. It sounds like you had a good weekend- but I can't wait until you find your USB cord (which sound so uncharacteristic of you) so we can see more pics of Noah!

Sounds like a lot of fun!! Someday I hope to make it to a big family reunion.
Megan, you will be great with two kids. You can totally do it! One of the things that helped out a lot when Jacob and Hannah were young was to put Jacob in the bath tub for one of the feedings. I just sat by the bathroom and nursed Hannah while he played. Or I would give him paper and crayons, books, something for him to do while I was taking care of the baby. Or he sat by me and we read books. You will be great and Noah will love being a big brother!
