Easter Eggs

Luke told me last night that it has been too long since I blogged. Hmmm. Well, I guess it is time for an update. Or a few updates... We have just been busy I guess, so there is much to share.

We had a great Easter and started some traditions with the kids... although Noah really was the only one to participate this year since Emma is still really little.

The Saturday before Easter we dyed Easter eggs and Noah loved it! He loved it so much that we actually ran to the store and bought more eggs for him to dye. We had a ton of hard boiled eggs! That afternoon we went to an Easter Egg hunt a Grandma Caroline's. Hunting for eggs was a new concept for him, but after awhile he got the hang of it. It was a wonderful evening to be with family!

Welcome, Baby Scout!

This post is way overdue. Last week, we welcomed another little girl into our family last week.

She is a precious, beautiful little thing! How quickly I have forgotten how tiny they are! Emma looks like she is ready to start kindergarten next to the baby.
While Brent and Julia were in the hospital, Hayden came to stay with us. Noah was a little confused at first, but it ended up being really fun to have both boys. Here are some pics of our very busy weekend.

tomorrow is the day

Tomorrow is the day! I am getting my hair cut! I let the results of the poll make most of the decision for me and I am getting it cut short! Woohoo! No more rolling over at night to a big fuzzy next on my pillow. No more two handfuls of mousse to tame the frizz curls! No more 35 minutes of blow drying, 15 minutes of flat ironing to only have it look like the before of a Garnier Fructis commercial (you know what I'm talking about). It is exciting. Very very exciting.

Also, tomorrow we are going to scam for some chicks. It's true. It's the time of year for checking out chicks. If you don't know what this means... stay tuned, I will surely have pics of the chicks we pick up in a couple of weeks.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We are just a wee bit o'irish but I still thought it would be fun to dress up the kids... if only just for me. It is so hard to get pictures of them together! Here are a few of my favorites...

(I can't figure out why this is loading sideways.... it isn't sideways in my file, oh well!)

In other news: the kids had Dr.'s appts on Monday and I am pleased to report they are healthy. Noah weighed in at 28 lbs. and 14 oz. He is now 32 inches tall putting him in the 95% for height and 75% for weight. The doc informed me that he would be fine with 2%, maybe even 1% milk. No more whole milk for this kid!
Emma weighed 12 lbs. 13 oz. and was 25 inches tall. She is 75% for height and only 25% for weight. This is consistent with her growth curve though, so there is nothing to worry about. Plus, she looks healthy, not bony. She is just our tall skinny girl! Lucky thing.

growing up so fast

My kids are growing up so fast! I can't believe it! I want to remember a couple of things...

Yesterday, I saw Noah "pretending" for the first time. He was standing by Emma's exersaucer, playing with the toys and I could hear him babbling and making funny noises with his mouth. When I went to see what he was doing... of course... he was pretending to put food in his mouth and then pretending to chew it by smacking his lips together! It was so funny. I wanted to pull out the video camera, but he always catches me and stops whatever cute little thing he is doing. So funny that he is entertaining himself by playing pretend!

Emma constantly amazes us because she does little things way before we expect her to. Last night as I was changing her and getting her ready for bed I gave her a kiss on the cheek and said "kisses." Well our smart little miss Em turned her face and slobbered my cheek with a kiss! I thought I was imagining things so we did it three more times, went to show daddy and she kissed my cheek two more times then kissed Luke's twice! It was so cute. By that time she was tired and done with the parlour tricks, so we let her go to bed. Never would I have imagined that she would give kisses, on cue, at 4 1/2 months! It will probably never happen again, but I just wanted to remember this day and how smart my kids are!
